The South Wayne Porchfest is quickly approaching, and we need volunteers to assist at road closure barricades with pedestrian crossing.  This is a lovely event with lots of great talented musicians attending each year, and such fun to be a part of.  Please sign up if you are available, even if it is just an hour or two.

Join us from 11:30am - 5PM for live music in South Wayne!

Porchfest began in Ithaca, N.Y. in 2007. For the past 10 years, this joyous day of free music has spread to cities and towns throughout the United States and Canada. The organizers of South Wayne PorchFest are proud to bring this idea to Radnor Township.

Please join in for a day of music, friendship and fun! PorchFest 2022 will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 11:30 am to 5 pm.

Radnor Citizens Police Academy RETURNS!  New Class in 2023 and CPA Refresher in Fall

We are very pleased to announce that the Radnor Police Department is now in the process of planning a new Citizens Police Academy Class for 2023.  The new class will be slightly shorter in length, and will include new topics and changes that have happened in police work since the last class was held.  It will either be a spring or fall class, not sure which yet, but we will let you know as soon as the schedule is set.  Please let your friends, family and neighbors in Radnor township know about this upcoming class.

The Radnor Police Department is also planning a short Citizens Police Academy refresher course for all past CPA attendees from the first 4 classes.  This will likely be a couple of evening classes in the fall 2022 timeframe with a mix of classroom and hands-on exercises to update everyone.  This will be a very exciting opportunity to see your previous classmates, interact with RPD officers, and get a good refresher and update on what is currently happening.

If you have any comments or questions on either class, please feel free to use our member feedback form.

Possible Fall CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Class

Delaware County Citizen Corps is looking to hold a CERT class again, possibly in the fall this year.  I know a number of RCPO volunteers (myself included) already assist with CCDC, MRC and/or CERT, but if you don't and are interested this is a great opportunity to jump in.  You do not have to actively volunteer after taking the class, it is intended to prepare members of the community to assist their neighbors during a disaster situation.  Of course CCDC is always looking for volunteers, check out Citizen Corps of Delaware County (delcocitizencorps.org) for more information.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.

For more information on the CERT program, please visit the CERT website on Ready.gov: Community Emergency Response Team - https://www.ready.gov/cert

We will let you know as soon as this class is scheduled and available.

Member Feedback Form

Also, we still have a member feedback form available.  We only received a few responses to this previously, so please take a minute to fill this out if you can:

Upcoming Events in 2022

This is not an all inclusive list, but these are most of the events that we will typically assist with during the fall time each year.  Please keep these dates in mind, and consider signing up to help out if you are available.  We will send out times and more details for each event as they get closer.
